Alcohol can cause harm to the developing fetus across any stage of pregnancy and development; therefore, an array of physical abnormalities and conditions may also be experienced.
There are more than 400 conditions that can co-occur with FASD, including growth deficiency, heart, kidney and liver defects, vision and hearing problems, dental abnormalities and skeletal defects. It is important that adults living with FASD are supported to attend regular check-ups with their GP.
