A Message from Our Patron for FASD Awareness Month: Everyone Plays a Part

As the patron of NOFASD Australia, I’m pleased to welcome you to the start of FASD Awareness Month – 30 days during which we place an increased focus on deepening the understanding about FASD throughout Australia.

This year NOFASD has embraced the theme “Everyone plays a part – it takes a community” recognising that raising awareness is something we can all contribute to. The month allows every Australian to deepen our understanding of FASD and to stand beside the families who live with its impacts every day. I want to encourage Australians across our country to listen, to learn, and to share accurate information about FASD so that understanding can continue to grow.

FASD touches individuals, families, and communities in profound ways. Through compassion and collective effort we can create meaningful change. I want to pay tribute to the families, carers, and professional people whose dedication strengthens the path toward better support and brighter futures.

Let us use this month to reaffirm our commitment to prevention, early diagnosis, and respectful inclusion of people living with FASD. Together, we can build a community where every individual is valued, every family is supported, and no one walks this journey alone.
