The 9th day of the 9th month is globally acknowledged as International FASD Awareness Day. Symbolising the 9 months of a pregnancy, the event can be acknowledged in many ways. We encourage you to get involved! You might like to host an event, post on social media, display information, or have conversations with people in your community. Please see NOFASD’s for more information and ideas. You may wish to download to distribute at an event, or give your own presentation using our . NOFASD also provides for display.
Another way to raise awareness about FASD is to join the campaign, which was started by RJ Formanek, an adult with FASD. He decided to wear RED SHOES to stand out, be noticed and have some fun starting FASD conversations with strangers.
NOFASD is holding an animal photo competition, encouraging everyone to get your pets involved in raising awareness of FASD! To enter the competition simply post a photo of your animal in red shoes on Facebook with the hashtag #NOFASD. Read more here.
Together we can make this year, the 20th anniversary of International FASD Awareness Day, the biggest event yet!
