Lived Experience FASD Speakers’ Bureau

FASD is a complex disorder.

As Australia’s peak body supporting people and families living with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), NOFASD is committed to increasing awareness and understanding of FASD throughout the community.

The Speakers’ Bureau is a service provided by NOFASD to educate on the topic of FASD by matching speakers’ expertise with the needs of the target audience. Individual members can contribute in learning settings, engage with media, participate in events, contribute to research, and respond to digital information gathering. Members can support all aspects of FASD knowledge to promote prevention, recognition, diagnosis, treatments and appropriate FASD-informed supports.

Members’ experience covers a range of topics relevant to FASD, each with a unique perspective and considerable expertise. Representatives include clinical experts, families and individuals raising young children, experts managing key life transitions for children and adults, individuals who are self-advocates, families living with the lifelong impacts, and birth mothers raising children or supporting adults.

Speakers aim to act as catalysts for positive change and to create opportunities enabling a better understanding of this lifelong disability.
